I preferred it when Chuck Wepner took on Andre the Giant.

I watched the full fight on a stream and then watched Four Kings on Discovery plus to restore my faith in Boxing

Re: Any streams for the Fury circus?
I have a dodgy Sky / bt feed so I watched this last night

After 3 or 4 rounds I had a word with myself as it was truly dreadful, more akin to wrestling, so I switched over and watched the cricket

I knew you'd love that Soldo.

In terms of irritation. Paul is up there with those African "ballers" on social media who think they might get signed by Manchester Utd, or social media polls about the "GOAT"

The only good I can see out of this over hyped shit show is that it might get more youngsters into the sport... as they spend half their life on Tik Tok etc... fuck me if they think this is a proper bout... imagine they would have an orgasm if they ever watched anything remotely decent

To be fair to Froch he would knock this clowns head off his shoulders!

I love boxing. But it's dying on its arse at the moment. Too many mismatches and the fights that should happen only occur when the 2 fighters are way past their best. Mayweather Pacquiao is an obvious example that should have happened in 2009 instead it happened in 2015 when Mayweather was 38 and Pacquiao 36 . Fury uysk won't happen anytime soon either.

I’m with Council all the way on this.

If you can hype up a show then you sell tickets and get the bug bucks. Jake Paul was the promoter, he created this all and has got paid for it.
There is nothing stopping Carl Froch or other people from doing the same if they wish. (Apart from Froch’s dour persona)

At the end of the day, two guys still had to train hard and then get in a ring and trade punches with each other. It was a world away from Ricky Gervais Vs Grant Bovey, it was a real boxing match between 2 boxers early in their career.

Like with all things, if it annoys you then ignore it. If you are jealous of it then replicate it and earn the same yourself.

80% of boxing is engineered. Boxers entire careers are planned so as to protect the ticket sellers…until the last minute when they have to meet someone they can’t / might not beat. Until that point every penny is extracted from the journey.

Yeah they will have a rematch, and if they can sell it people will buy it. I watched this one out of curiosity but I won’t watch the next one but the I’m not a 15 year old social media addict.

Boxing didn’t stop because this happened. They didn’t take any earnings away from any other boxers who “deserved it more”. If anything they have brought in a new audience and clever boxers will wake up and realise the potential and old farts will complain about how it was back in their day. Much like old footballers complaining about how much modern day players earn.

Re: Any streams for the Fury circus?

Where have you been for the last 100 odd years? Ticket sellers have always ruled boxing, can't sell a ticket? Well then you are a journeyman.

Women's boxing is even worse. Stevie Levi being a case in point, 30,000 insta followers, loads of revealing pics, gets on mathroom shows, yet isn't fit to lace most amateur ladies gloves.

Speaking of boxers, I saw billy joe Saunders in the Turkish barbers last week - fuck me hes let himself go.

No way is he ever fighting at the top level again.

Re: Any streams for the Fury circus?
Scum… for me it makes a mockery of a great sport… it’s an insult to FAR FAR more talented Boxers who have spent years grafting and honing the pugilistic arts… this was promoted like some Ali v Frasier superfight… but so I heard on Talk Sport this morning a boxing promoter says the blame is not on this sham of a contest but on those far more talented boxers to up their game on Tik Tok/You tube etc … does not sit right for me and makes a mockery of the sport.

Re: Any streams for the Fury circus?
Regardless of what people think about it, it was good for boxing. Some of the kids watching these youtubers fight will go on to follow the sport properly, which can only be a good thing.

As Scum has said though, Jake Paul is beyond the level of a "celebrity/Youtube boxer". I doubt he'd ever be world title level though (although the WBC might somehow get him a title fight), but he might get himself national belt.

I cant be bothered with any of these "celebrity" (i use the term loosely) handbags. Its an absolute nonsense, yet people pay to watch it,,,,,the mind boggles.

Re: Any streams for the Fury circus?
The worse thing about that fight was the referee.

The two fighters gave a fairly good showing except for Fury bawling his eyes out at the end.

Re: Any streams for the Fury circus?
"You know who i feel sorry for?? Actual Boxers... who slog their guts out day in day out at the gym... doing the miles"

Jake Paul has been doing that for 6 years, yeah he's basic, but to suggest he doesn't take it seriously and just turns up and fights, is plain wrong. He trains like a pro and has done for years.

Dave Allen fought Mike Bassett (insert football jokes here) Mike is a basic to shit level unlicenced fighter, it was a huge mismatch and got stopped in 20 seconds. I'd be more concerned about why that was allowed to happen than the Paul Fury fight.

Re: Any streams for the Fury circus?
The price to watch it live was £20. You'd have to be a complete dickhead to fork out a score on it.

…while Home Alone actor Macaulay Culkin tweeted: "There's no better way to celebrate your half birthday than to watch Jake Paul get punched in the head repeatedly."

Hahaha

Paul looked like a beat-up fifty-year-old at the end. He should probably give it up.
